I had to scroll to damn near the bottom of the page to find out what number of Archetype Archive I'm on. Reissuing mixtapes buried any meaningful posts on this site.
I suppose it's time for an Archetype update. I'll try to be brief of course, because by being brief I'm pretending to be busy instead of playing Call of Duty.
The biggest news is: I have a crew! Kyle Tam has long been onboard as the location sound mixer / boom operator, but in the past week or so I've had two additions that'll, you know, help get this film made.
Working right now under the prestigious title of Assistant Director is Maria Cocchiarella, who's been diligently working on getting the rest of the casting sessions underway. During production, she'll put her penchant for note-taking and highlighting to good use as a sort of hybrid Script Supervisor / Whatever Nth AC it is who slates.
Also on Team MPC is Lindsey Koens, who currently works at a small production company in the Twin Cities. Only difference between MPC and her employer is, well, she gets paid there, and they're making a film that's budgeted over a million dollars. Still, she's enthusiastic to work with a small crew so that she'll get to be part of many aspects of production. We haven't gone into it yet, but she's expressed interest in working in some capacity as Production Designer, and it'd be great to have someone put some muscle into that.
Casting-wise, I've officially brought on, as mentioned prior, Justin Cecka as Jesse Collins, and, just this past Saturday, John Edel as Sergeant Davidson. (A movie about arms dealing has to have a cop, right?) There are still many roles to fill, and one of them will be played by Ashly Ryan. As the casting process goes along, we'll figure exactly which that role will be. Probably the coveted spot as James Drake, or maybe Joe Collins or the dastardly Rogue Leader, Charles Morgan. Either way, both John and Ashly seem like a great fit for the production, and I highly look forward to working with them.
See? An optimistic post! I guess this here movie just might be made after all.
