1. Death - Keep On Knocking
2. The Radio Dept. - Heaven's On Fire
3. Here We Go Magic - Collector
4. The Morning Benders - Promises
5. Broken Social Scene - Backyards
6. Frightened Rabbit - Swim Until You Can't See Land
7. K-OS - Uptown Girl
8. Louis XIV - Paper Doll
9. Radiohead - Just
10. Ryan Adams - Come Pick Me Up
11. Foo Fighters - Everlong
12. Fang Island - Davey Crockett
Also: Every loves lists, but people moreso love ranked lists. My ten favorite albums of the year, thus far:
1. Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
2. Frightened Rabbit - The Winter of Mixed Drinks
3. Fang Island
4. Local Natives - Gorilla Manor
5. Four Tet - There Is Love In You
6. Spoon - Transference
7. Hot Chip - One Life Stand
8. Surfer Blood - Astro Coast
9. Los Campesinos! - Romance Is Boring
10. Beach House - Teen Dream
A good list, sure, but this year also has some juggernauts dropping from LCD Soundsystem, The National, probably The Arcade Fire, probably Deerhunter, maybe Radiohead, the slightest of all slight chances, My Bloody Valentine, and, hell, another Hood Internet mixtape.
