Mux189: Mr. Mux Eats His Hat

Download or stream.

Digging into the vault with some older cuts by Caribou, !!!, Boards of Canada, and Radiohead. Some new and newish stuff as well. And after last mux's briefness, this one hits 58:46, but that's mostly because of a nine-minute closer. Well, it can't be nearly as bad as that time I put Fucked Up's 22-minute "ONNO" on a mux.

1. Caribou - Yeti (The Milk of Human Kindness)
2. !!! - Yadnus (Myth Takes)
3. Michael Jackson - Get On The Floor (Off The Wall)
4. Boards of Canada - Telephasic Workshop (Music Has The Right To Children)
5. HEALTH - New Coke (Death Magic)
6. Tortoise - Hot Coffee (The Catatrophist)
7. Radiohead - Bullet Proof... I Wish I Was (The Bends)
8. Shearwater - Prime (Jet Plane And Oxbow)
9. Cheatahs - Reverie Bravo (Mythologies)
10. Wolfmother - Where Eagles Have Been (Wolfmother)
11. Neon Indian - News From The Sun (Live Bootleg) (VEGA INTL. Night School)
12. Brian Eno & Karl Hyde - Return (High Life)

Mux179: Mr. Mux Strikes Back

Download.

I've broken my rule of not having the same band on two consecutive muxes. Well, doubly accidental that Battles has been on three muxes in a row, but "FF Bada" is quickly becoming one of my favorite Battles tracks. Also considering "The Yabba," La Di Da Di is pretty much a lock for my shortlist for my favorite albums of the year. It'll definitely be great to hear the studio version of the album in a week or two before I see them live in early October. Hoping to see some familiar faces at First Ave. who will front-row-it with me.

1. The Black Keys - Bullet In The Brain (Turn Blue)
2. Destroyer - Dream Lover (Poison Season)
3. Titus Andronicus - Come On, Siobhan (The Most Lamentable Tragedy)
4. Cymbals Eat Guitars - LifeNet (LOSE)
5. Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Can't Keep Checking My Phone (Multi-Love)
6. Brian Eno & Kyle Hyde - Cells & Bells (High Life)
7. Ought - Habit (More Than Any Other Day)
8. Built To Spill - So (Untethered Moon)
9. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah)
10. The Go! Team - The Power Is On (Thunder, Lightning, Strike [Original Version])
11. Battles - FF Bada (La Di Da Di)
12. Caribou - Your Love Will Set You Free (C2's Set U Free Remix) (Our Love [Expanded Edition])

Mux065: The Quarter Century

Here's a lot of mux tracks on my giant Put-On-A-Muxtape playlist that I finally decided to halfway-decently sequence and, well, put on a mux. Side note: Do you know how hard it is to find a place for "Transatlanticism" without shoving it at the end of a mix? I barely squeezed it in there without grinding things to a halt.

And since Megaupload doesn't let you stream, I'll be posting these on Soundcloud with an embedded player. Only problem is I have a finite time limit for my overall uploads, so I'll probably have to delete each mux when the next comes out. A necessary-evil workaround.

So download via the obnoxious Megaupload and stream below via Soundcloud.

The tracks:

1. David Bowie - Five Years
2. Pulp - Common People
3. The Get Up Kids - I'm A Loner, Dottie, A Rebel...
4. Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta
5. Weezer - Say It Ain't So
6. Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism
7. Brian Eno - By This River
8. Radiohead - Sulk
9. Spoon - The Underdog
10. The Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
11. The National - Mr. November

Making their mux debut:
Brian Eno (though I swore I had the Eno/Byrne track "Strange Overtones" on a mux...)
The Get Up Kids
Harvey Danger
Pulp
