Mux128: Something Something Summer

Basically a semi-Back To Rock mux. Some new, some old, e.g. the usual. I'd also like to take a moment to state that !!!'s THR!!!ER, annoying title aside, is one of the most criminally underrated albums of the year.

Boom.

1. Radiohead - Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box (Amnesiac)
2. !!! - Even When The Water's Cold (THR!!!ER)
3. Controller.Controller - Magnetic Strip (X-Amounts)
4. Wolf Parade - Call It A Ritual (At Mount Zoomer)
5. Iceage - Everything Drifts (You're Nothing)
6. Modest Mouse - Tiny Cities Made of Ashes (The Moon & Antarctica)
7. Foals - Everytime (Holy Fire)

11. The National - Lit Up (Parisian Party Version) (Single) (For JET, as always)

TRT 44:15

Rookies: Controller.Controller (hey, remember those guys?)

New(ish) 2013 music: !!!, Foals, Iceage

Mux111: PacNor

Tried to make a mix of all Portland bands for my recent trip to the northwest. I apparently do not have enough Portland-only bands in my iTunes, so I decided to venture over into Washington and the surrounding areas to make a rather scattershot PacNor playlist.

And no, there's no obligatory Nirvana track.

Yoink.

1. Modest Mouse - Dark Center of the Universe (The Moon & Antarctica)
2. Death Cab For Cutie - Meet Me On The Equinox (The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack [yep])
3. Band of Horses - The Funeral (Everything All The Time)

JDK Radio 005: My Brain Is Insane

Second playlist of the day. Fifth installment of semi-themed JDK Radio. (Whereas The Muxtapes are mostly new music.)

And if you happen to be in the presence of anyone older than 40, I suggest you listen to the last track in private.

Download via drop.io.

The tracks:

3. Jimi Hendrix - Manic Depression
4. Green Day - Brain Stew

10. Notorious B.I.G. - Suicidal Thoughts

Mux021: Back to Rock

After including some electro cuts across the last few mix/muxes, I wanted to go back to my roots, if that is, in some way, possible. That doesn't make sense, since the first good album I bought was Kid A, and that strays pretty far from rock. Regardless, you can download Mux021 via drop.io, and here are the tracks:

1. The Kills - U.R.A. Fever
2. Radiohead - Palo Alto
3. Sunset Rubdown - Idiot Heart
4. Cymbals Eat Guitars - Some Trees
5. Asobi Seksu - Thursday
6. No Age - Cappo
7. The Thermals - Now We Can See
8. Sonic Youth - Theresa's Sound-World
9. Modest Mouse - Life Like Weeds
10. Mastodon - Colony of Birchmen
11. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Lie Down Here (And Be My Girl)

Simple explanation for the somewhat-random Mastodon inclusion: it's awesome to play in Rock Band 2.
